Sulaiman M. Al-Rubaie
Mr. Al-Rubaie has more than 17 years of experience in merchant banking and private equity. He has a wealth of experience across many areas including advisory, mergers & acquisitions, equity and debt capital markets and restructuring.
He started his career with boutique investment bank, Brask and Company (Acquired by Kaupthing Bank), in their placement and later in their M&A team with a focus on the high growth industries. He then moved back to Kuwait to join the investment banking team at Global Investment House where he led and co-led the formation, placement, and strategic monitoring of companies in various sectors. He later joined Eastgate Capital Group, the private equity and real estate investment arm of National Commercial Bank of Saudi Arabia, in Dubai and was a member of their transactions team. He joined Global again in 2010 as Vice President in the alternative asset management group and managed the overall restructuring of the Private Equity department and the numerous funds. He was promoted to become Executive Vice President in 2015, Deputy CEO in April 2017, Acting CEO in July 2018 and CEO in July 2019. Mr. Al-Rubaie is a member of the Frontiers Market and Middle East Councils of the EMPEA and is a board member of Boursa Kuwait in addition to numerous companies in the GCC and the Levant.
Mr. Al-Rubaie received his MBA from London Business School and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering from Cornell University, Ithaca, New York.
Ms. Mulla-Hussain is a professional with over 28 years of experience. With a Law degree fresh out of Kuwait University, she joined the Legal Department of Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) and left KNPC five years later to join Kuwait Investment Authority (KIA) in 1994 where she held a Legal Counsel position. At KIA she was part of the team entrusted with the establishment of Kuwait Small Projects Company, the first government initiative aimed at supporting small to medium projects in the local market. She left KIA in March 2004 to join Global Investment House.
Since joining Global, Ms. Mulla-Hussain headed the Legal Department and was promoted to Executive Vice President Legal & Compliance in 2010 and played a vital role in the development and restructuring of the Company. In 2017 she was promoted to Chief Operating Officer heading the entire “Support Group” which consists of Legal, Compliance, Operations, HR & Admin, Marketing and IT.
Ms. Mulla-Hussain is Chairperson of Global Investment House DIFC Limited.
Bader G. Al-Ghanim
Mr. Al-Ghanim has over 15 years of experience in investment advisory, asset management, and derivatives. He has a wealth of experience in portfolio and fund management with focus on equities and fixed income in the MENA region.
He started his career with Kuwait Investment Authority as Assistant Financial Analyst. He then joined the Forward Trading department at Kuwait & Middle East Financial Investment Company to assist in managing the first forward trading operations in the region. He later joined Kuwait Financial Center where he contributed to structuring Forsa Fund, the first derivative fund in Kuwait and the GCC, and also established and managed the first GCC fund launched by the company. He joined Kuwait & Middle East Financial Investment Company again as AGM to head the GCC asset management business. Bader joined Global in 2010 to assist in managing the asset management business in the GCC.
Mr. Al-Ghanim holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Boston University.
Abdulhamid Mihrez, CFA, MBA
Abdulhamid is a seasoned investment professional with comprehensive knowledge in wider MENA region. He brings over 16 years of experience in asset management, investment banking, restructuring and exit strategies development.
He played an active role in Global’s USD1.7bn debt restructuring and successfully transformed the principle investments division into an Asset Management business pillar. During his stay at Global, Abdulhamid successfully secured asset management mandates in excess of USD800 million in pan MENA sectors and asset classes and led exits of around USD400million. Abdulhhamid heads the Special Situations Asset Management department and was promoted to Executive Vice president in 2018.
Abdulhamid is a board member of a number of regional and international companies in the real estate, insurance, food, industrial, and financial services sectors.
During his career, he led or co-led a number of investment banking transactions worth USD700mn covering valuations, financial advisory, mergers & acquisitions, capital raising, bond issuance, financial restructuring and listing mandates. He started his career in the asset management field where he was a member of a fund management team managing two equity mutual funds.
Abdulhamid is a CFA Charterholder and a member of CFA Society Kuwait and Lebanon. He received his MBA from the Lebanese American University, Beirut.
