Hareb M. Al-Darmaki


Mr. Al-Darmaki, a UAE national, brings with him a wealth of experience spanning for more than 40 years in the investment and asset management industries in the region international markets. He has been with Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) since 1976 and is currently the Advisor - Managing Director's office. During his career he served on the board of several regional and international organizations including Arab Banking Corporation, Q-Tel (Ooredoo), Abu Dhabi Investment Company and Abu Dhabi Securities Market, among others. He is currently the chairman of Gulf Capital, board member of AXA Green Crescent Insurance Company and a member of several investment and strategy committees.


He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Political Science from Bristol University in the United Kingdom, and a Master’s Degree in International Studies from Johns Hopkins University, USA.

Maha K. Al-Ghunaim

Vice Chairman

Mrs. Al-Ghunaim co-founded Global in 1998 and has managed the company till April 2017 to become a prominent asset management and investment banking firm in the region.


She was involved in several milestone transactions including one of the largest M & A transactions in the telecommunications sector for USD10.7bn, the raising of USD10bn in equity capital, and USD3bn in conventional & Islamic debt, and the management of USD4bn on behalf of clients.


Mrs. Al-Ghunaim has over 31 years of experience in the financial sector and mainly in asset management and investment banking. She has served on the board of several regional companies and advisory boards and held several senior positions.


Her success drew media attention to herself and she has been recognized as a role model for Arab women and women in the Islamic world. She received several accolades from industry leaders including the "Banker Middle East Industry Award (BME) for her outstanding contribution to the financial industry. The Wall Street Journal had named her on its list of 50 “Women to Watch”. Forbes (US) ranked her for three consecutive years as one of the World's 100 most influential women.


Mrs. Al-Ghunaim holds a BS in Mathematics from San Francisco State University, California, USA.

Bader A. AL-Sumait


Mr. AL-Sumait is a seasoned financial expert with over 37 years of experience in asset management, banking and finance. He co-founded Global in 1998 and held several executive positions where he was involved in key activities such as the development of the asset management business, implementation of the corporate governance framework and the successful restructuring of the company. On 9th of March 2009 Mr. AL-Sumait was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of the company. He submitted his resignation from his executive role as Chief Executive Officer to retire beginning of 2017. Prior to Global, he was the Managing Director of Arab Financial Consultants Company, Founder and Chairman of First Brokerage Company and Chairman of Al Manar Leasing & Financing (Kuwait).  During his career, he served on the board and committees of many entities including Bank of Kuwait and Middle East (Kuwait), Bank Muscat (Bahrain), Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait (Bahrain), Kuwait Investment Company (Kuwait) Kuwait Stock Exchange Committee, Dubai International Financial Exchange (DIFX), Planet Pharmacies and Gulf Healthcare International (Dubai), amongst others.


He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Chapman University in the United States.

Abdul wahab Al-Halabi

Director & Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Al-Halabi has over 21 years of experience in the fields of executive management. He involved in the REIT industry in the region. Prior to that, he was the Group Chief Investment Officer of Meraas Holding, a leading UAE based developer where he was responsible for the group's capital markets, investments, funding and finance functions. He has also been the Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Properties and held various senior positions within the Dubai Holding group focusing on their development and leisure businesses.  He started his career with KPMG in London working on debt advisory services and restructuring and for two years was a partner at KPMG Dubai co-heading the transaction and restructuring unit in the UAE and Oman.


Mr. Al-Halabi is also a current board member of DXB Entertainments, a DFM listed entity and was previously on several boards including Emirates REIT Management which managed Emirates REIT, a NASDAQ Dubai listed entity and several other private enterprises related to Meraas.


Mr. Al-Halabi holds a degree in Economics from London School of Economics, and is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

Ali Ojjeh


Ali Ojjeh is founding partner and chief executive of The Capital Partnership Group (TCP) in London. TCP is a wealth management firm specializing in investment management across asset classes with USD2.5 billion in discretionary managed portfolios. Mr. Ojjeh brings an extensive understanding of the financial markets with specific expertise in the energy and technology sectors. He is the chair of the firm’s executive committee and investment committee.


In addition, he’s the executive chairman of Northgate Capital, a venture capital and private equity firm with $5 billion in assets under management. Northgate is headquartered in San Francisco, with offices in London, Mexico City, and Melbourne.


Prior to co-founding TCP, Mr. Ojjeh worked in various departments at Goldman Sachs & Co. in New York, including Equity Research, Equity Trading, Equity Proprietary Trading, and Principal Investments. He later relocated to Morgan Stanley in London, where he managed client portfolios at Morgan Stanley Asset Management.


Mr. Ojjeh is a director of several TCP companies.  In addition, he is a member of the advisory boards of the Graduate School of Business (GSB) and the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies (FSI) at Stanford University.


Mr. Ojjeh holds a BS in financial economics from Carnegie Mellon University and an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business. He received the “Best Article of the Year” award from the Wharton Journal in 1988.

Hamad T. Alhomaizi

Independent Director

Mr. Alhomaizi was appointed to Global’s Board in 2010 where he served as the Vice Chairman. Mr. Hamad is a Board member of Al Salaam Bank Bahrain and Ishraq Holding among others. His business experience includes direct investments, hedge funds, real estate and startups. He has worked in various capacities and founded a number of successful ventures. Mr. Alhomaizi belongs to a renowned business family in Kuwait with diversified interests and is an entrepreneur who has launched several successful new businesses. Mr. Alhomaizi graduated from The George Washington University, USA in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Business Administration.

Bassam Yammine


Mr. Yammine has vast experience in investment banking and private equity. He is the CEO of Excelsa Development Holding, a diversified investment holding company. Excelsa invests in operating companies active in the real estate, oil & gas, and manufacturing sectors in Africa, the Middle East, and North America. Prior to founding Excelsa in 2013, he led the growth and development of Credit Suisse in the MENA region over six years as Co-CEO of Middle East & North Africa. He was the founder and CEO of Audi Saudi Arabia and managed the regional investment banking business for Audi Saradar Group. He also worked with Lebanon Invest Sal, the first investment bank in Lebanon where he held the role of General Manager and Member of the Board. He was Deputy Chairman of Li Venture (Holding) Sal, the first venture capital firm in Lebanon. In 2005, Mr. Yammine served in the Government of the Republic of Lebanon as Minister of Energy and Water. Mr. Yammine holds an M.B.A. in Finance from the University of Chicago and M.S. and B.A degrees from Loyola Marymount University.
