Hisham A. Al-Razzuqi
Vice Chairman (Independent Director)
Following his graduation from the American University, Beirut, Mr. Al-Razzuqi joined the Planning Board where he participated in a study for one year with The Economist Intelligence Unit to evaluate companies owned jointly between the government of Kuwait and the private sector.
Later he joined Kuwait Foreign Trading Contracting and Investment Company (majority owned by the government of Kuwait) as junior officer. During his ten year tenure at KFCIC, whereby he contributed to its growth and success, Mr. Al-Razzuqi assumed senior positions, the last being Deputy General Manager in charge of Marketable Securities, Credit and Treasury.
He joined Gulf Investment Corporation (GIC), equally owned by the governments of the GCC, since its inception in 1983 as Executive Vice President. And was actively involved in the company’s initial financial and business strategy. In 2001 he was appointed CEO of GIC whereby he reorganized the corporation to become the leading private equity firm in the region.
Throughout his career, Mr. Al-Razzuqi was on the board of 17 local and international financial organizations. Some of which were Foulath (Chairman), a steel company in Bahrain, National Industries, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait Investment Company, Burgan Bank, Kuwait Reinsurance Company. Mr. Al-Razzuqi is a member of the Conference Board Global Advisory Council and a member of the Middle East Advisory Board of Olayan School of Business at the American University of Beirut.
Mr. Al-Razzuqi has a B.A from the American University of Beirut and attended the Advanced Management Program at Harvard University.
