Global Investment House (Global) announced today that five of its employees successfully completed various levels of the Investment Operations Certificate (IOC), a globally recognized operations qualification, from the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI), the most widely respected professional body for those who work in the securities and investment industry.

The five candidates completed their examinations of different levels with one employee passing the first level, three employees finishing the second level and one employee completing the final paper of the three-level qualification. Last year, three Global employees became the first in Kuwait to successfully complete the IOC.

The IOC, also known as Investment Administration Qualification (IAQ), is a practitioner led program for administration and operations staff. It equips individuals with an overview of the financial services industry and its regulation, as well as providing a detailed picture of their particular industry sector. To obtain the full IAQ, candidates need to study and pass three levels covering Introduction to Securities & Investment, regulatory section covering either the FSA Financial Regulation or Principles of Financial Regulation and a technical unit relating to the administration and operations of the financial services industry.

Mrs. Khawla Al Roomi, Executive Vice President of Human Resources and Administration in Global said, “We were delighted when our employees chose to obtain the IOC and provided them our full support as Global strongly believes in promoting professional excellence. The hard work the candidates put into earning their IOC reflects their desire to succeed both on the personal and professional levels.

The CISI has been working in the Middle East since 2005 and in 2008 it became the first UK financial services body in the Kuwait market announcing an agreement with the Gulf University for Science and Technology.

Mrs. Al Roomi concluded by saying, "We at Global encourage all employees to reinforce their experience by supporting and sponsoring such initiatives. In addition to the IOC holders, Global currently has many employees applying for CFA in addition to other certificate holders in various areas such as Operations, Wealth Management, Human Resources and Marketing.”
